3:00 pm	comic book crack For those of you that don't know, I am the manager (read sole employee) of More Fun Comics in New Orleans. I am coming off of a cold and still have an uncountable number of cold remedies, both natural and highly toxic, still running through my system. In an attempt to slice thru the giddy haze of non-drowzy over-the-counter chemicals, I told a customer who had a dissapointing number of comics in his folder that today may be the day he needs to pick up that $50 Absolute Batman Hush Hardcover he'd been looking at. I was simply being playful but then the medication fatigue kicked in. I told him that he would be a better person with that book in his possesion. That if, during conversation with a friend he found his attention drifting off he would remember that this book was in his library and suddenly, after a moment's pause he would reamerge into the conversation refreshed and ready to engage in a stimulating exchange of ideas with his collegue. 3:34 pm	We need to use your telephone. A few thoughts to get started. With all the jobs here in New Orleans, people are still begging for money. For fuck's sake, Wendy's is hiring for $15 an hour with a $2500 hiring bonus. I dont want to sling grease either. I also dont want to give away money. Im not talking about people who are genuinely in need. Just dumb kids without a clue. I guess thats why theyre kids. Music Fascists are still annoying. Just because you like something doesn't mean its inherently good. Fuck the music you like. You are not clever, and neither am I.
